Javascript Help

I'm sorry you are here on this page! No site is worth it's beans if you can't view it, let's get you going. Speaking of beans, this site uses a simple javascript program for pull-down menus. Apparently, this little program sometimes wrecks havoc with Mozilla and Internet Explorer.

Below are some hints, tips and a link to a java plugin that should enable you to view the Ashly page. I have tested our site with all the popular browsers on my systems (Windows 2000 and Windows XP), everything looks and works fine. I'm hoping we can get yours to do the same.

I have had feedback from users that when you use the automatic update for IE from Microsoft™, files become corrupted and your personal preferences are overwritten. Correcting the problem can be tedious requiring replacing files and creating a new user profile. People have called the Microsoft™ help line and they can (and will) walk you through the procedure. Also, Microsoft™ is said to have acknowledged that the IE update procedure has bugs and the Ashly site is not the cause of the problem.

Microsoft™ help pages:
Script Errors

Java Errors
(Probably the best place to start if the fixes on this page don't cure the problem)
Click on the Java Errors link and scroll down to "Determining the scope of the Java problem".
Follow the procedure and take it from there.

Firewalls and Antivirus Programs:

You are most likely running a firewall and an antivirus program. Make sure you do not have scripting blocked in either of these.

Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer (ver 6.0.2900.2180spxp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519)
Tools/Internet Options/Security/Custom - Scroll down to almost the bottom of the window until you see "Scripting'

Tools/Internet Options//Privacy - Set to 'Medium'

Tools/Internet Options/Advanced - about half-way down do you see 'Java (Sun)'?

If you don't, you need to install the plug-in. Go to the Sun Microsystems java site for their free download

Scrolling further down to 'Security' make sure these boxes are checked.
